The Domaine Saint Daumary, is located in Valflaunès, in the heart of the appellation area AOC Pic Saint-Loup. Julien Chapel is running this 20 hectare domain on the beautiful terroir of the Pic. He is the third generation of winegrower in his family.
The Domaine Saint Daumary wineyard is located in Hortus mountain at a 150m height on a limestone soil. There, the vines can benefit from the full infuence of the mediterranean climate. Also, the Hortus protects the vineyard from the setting sun that can burn the grapes offering a unique microclimate to the vineyard.
The maturity is slower and a certain acidity can be found in the grapes as well as a great freshness in the wines. In the Domaine Saint Daumary three areas can be distinguished as well as three differents terroirs : the Campasses, the Plaines and the Gourdou. It bring complexity to the wines.
The domain was always runned in organic farming and is certified AB since 2012. The Domaine Saint Daumary created four different cuvees mainly made of Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Mourvèdre, giving powerful wines, as well as a white wine made of Roussane, Vermentino and Grenache blanc.
