Grès de Montpellier
Clos de l’Amandaie – Clos De l’Amandaie Rouge, Clos De l’Amandaie Blanc, Chat’Pitre
The Clos de l’Amandaie is a domain located in Aumelas, 25km from Montpellier. Run by Philippe Peytavy since 2002, the domain has been passed on for five generations and is now the spearhead of the last Languedocian appellation of the Grès de Montpellier.
The wineyard is located on a clay-limestone soil in Aumelas. Influenced by the mediterranean climate and the freshness of the winds of the Massif Central’s foothills. Philippe Peytavy cultivates its vines within respect for the environment, but without claiming the AB certification. No chemical treatments, no systemic control, the soils are enriched only with natural fertilizer. The vinifications are done with the same vision : respect of the natural yeast, no chemical input, limited use of sulphur.
In short : « the fruit makes the wine »
