Château La Dournie
Located at the borde of Saint Chinian, the Château La Dournie is a family vineyard. It is owned by the Etienne family since the late 1800s. Run and passed on from mother to daughter for more than 6 generations now.
Head of the domain, Véronique Etienne, passionated by winemaking, manages the 45 hectares of the domain.
Everything is made for the work in the vineyard to be done in the most natural way possible. Manual work is favoured against the possible diseases. Véronique is always looking for the grapes to be as good as possible… The work of the wine starts in the wineyard.
14 differents grape varieties are cultivated there. This brings a lot of complexity to the wine. The 20 hectare on a schist hill, produces the AOC Saint Chinian . The other part of the vineyard is located near a river, on alluvial soils. Those plots are meant to produce country wines (“vin de pays”) : red, rose and white wines.
A safe bet of Saint Chinian.
